Smuggling 30 iphones at pk Airport

Customs authorities at Islamabad Airport have intercepted over two dozen imported mobile phones, including the newly launched iPhone 16 Pro Max. According to sources, customs officials confiscated 30 units of the iPhone 16 Pro Max from passengers arriving from the UAE.

The passenger, identified as a resident of Quetta, was reportedly in communication with customs staff, but other officials ultimately thwarted the attempt to smuggle the devices.

The recent launch of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has created a lucrative market for dealers in Pakistan, who often import phones without paying the requisite duties, leading to significant profit margins.
